Business laptops. The mind shudders at the thought. Lifeless Dell Latitude D810 Battery designs, inflated prices and various “sensible” options define the corporate laptop. Can Asus bring anything new to the party with the B23E? Not in the slightest, but at least it looks the part.

Asus had an incredible show at this year’s CES, but kept the B23E in the Dell Latitude D820 Battery stables. It’s not going to set the tech world on fire, but  HP 586028-341 Battery is going to set you back a cool US$1000 or more according to sources who discovered it on Amazon.com.

It’s no Ultrabook as the B23E is aiming for the middle ground, a user who requires raw  HSTNN-SB0H power and nothing more.

Focused on power

CPU-wise, Asus is looking to provide nothing but raw, sexy power in the form of the i7 2.64Ghz processor. In terms of speed, few HP ProBook 5310m Battery outside of the Alienware range can better the HP ProBook 6545b Battery . It will be interesting to see how the laptop benchmarks when it is eventually released.

The B23E falls under the ASUSPRO Ultraportable line of  HP ProBook 6540b Battery therefore is made up of an aluminium and magnesium alloy compound. So it can take the bumps and knocks life offers, and content remains intact thanks to the anti-shock AS09A61 hard drive.

The screen resolution is perhaps the most disappointing aspect of the slim,hstnn-lb72 powerful package. At only 1366×768, it’s HD, but not full HD. Frankly, that’s unacceptable for the price on offer.

Other protective 586006-361 features include the spill-proof keyboard which will be vigorously tested by the millions of productive hipsters who knock over their skinny lattes during an ad-hoc meet-and-greet at the faux-French corner café.

Interestingly, the hard drives range in flavour from a respectable 320GB to a gut-busting 750GB monster. Combined with a “900-charge cycle battery”, the B23E promised three times the  HP laptop Batteries life of standard Li-ion power supplies. A fingerprint reader rounds off the device.

Asus calls it the “pro 485041-001 notebook for business pros”. It does what it says on the tin, no more, no less. Watch for it in February 2012.

Asus now has a sleek business-oriented hstnn-db42 ultraportable dubbed the B23E. This 12.5-inch laptop is built to take the abuse that professionals and road warriors are known to throw at their 446506-001 notebooks.

Part of the Asus Pro B Series, the B23E is constructed of HP HSTNN-XB68 Battery magnesium-aluminum alloy on the cover and keyboard chassis, making HP EliteBook 8440w battery both strong and lightweight (at 3.4 pounds).

There are reinforced metal hinges, an anti-shock hard drive, a spill-proof keyboard--and the CQ62 battery has been drop tested, hinged tested, and pressure tested beyond consumer notebook standards, according to Asus’ product page.

A fingerprint reader, motion sensor, and optional Trusted Platform Module chips for security round out the features that may make both business Dell Latitude E5500 Battery users and IT departments happy.

Specs

In terms of specs, the B23E is pretty Dell Latitude E4310 Battery configurable, with your choice of an Intel Core i3, Core i5 or Core i5 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 750GB of HDD storage (7200rpm). You’ve got your standard array of ports (Ethernet, Bluetooth, card reader, HDMI), although there’s only one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0. The anti-glare display is your HP HSTNN-XB69 Battery typical 1366-pixel-by-768-pixel resolution.

Asus lists the B23E as having only a three-cell  HP ProBook 6440b Battery , which might be disappointing if you want all-day computing without needing to be plugged into an outlet. However, the company says the battery has three times the traditional Li-on battery life cycle thanks to its “Sonata” technology and that the HP KU531AA Battery quick charges to 90% in 90 minutes. A detachable docking station Dell Latitude E4300 Battery powers up and connects the laptop to up to three monitors at the office or home.

Ultrabooks may have stolen the show at CES this year, but clearly there’s a place and need for other Dell Latitude E4200 Battery types of ultraportables. The B23E is one option for professionals who don’t need the slimmest laptop possible but, instead, need something built for  Dell Latitude D830 Battery business. Intel Core i7 models of the B23E are available now on Amazon for under $1000.
